Ronald Koeman 4/6 to be the next Southampton manager

Competition: Premier League
Market: Ronald Koeman to be next Southampton manager
Odds:

Former Feyenoord manager Ronald Koeman is now the bookies’ favourite to be the next Southampton manager, following Mauricio Pochettino’s departure to join Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Koeman, 51, spent three years with the Eredivisie outfit, finishing 2nd (2011/12), 3rd (2012/13) and 2nd (2013/14). He’s now believed to fancy a move to the Premier League, but has had no offer put in for him yet.

“From Ronald’s point of view, (Southampton) would be amazing. I think it would be a very good success for the club, but also for the Premier League to get a coach like him. He is very technical, and very offensive. His team makes goals. They scored more than any …

Brighton will not sell Ben White to Leeds United

Brighton and Hove Albion will not sell Ben White to Leeds United in the summer transfer window, according to . White spent the 2019-20 campaign on loan at Leeds from Brighton and played an important role in the Whites clinching automatic promotion from the Championship.

Leeds want the 22-year-old central defender back, this time on a permanent contract, and have already made three bids for the youngster, the latest one being £25 million. However, the Seagulls have turned them all down and will not sell the Englishman to the West Yorkshire club.

Brighton do not want to strengthen a club who are going to be a direct rival for Premier League survival. Leeds have returned to the top flight of English football for the first time since 2004, and they are unlikely to spend a …

Mbappe to Real Madrid not financially feasible, says former president Calderon

Kylian Mbappe would be a stratospheric signing for Real Madrid but a move is not financially feasible, according to the Spanish club s former president Ramon Calderon.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward has been strongly tipped to link up with Zinedine Zidane at the Santiago Bernabeu at some point in his career, potentially as early as this transfer window.

However, Mbappe still has two years to run on his PSG contract and would command a huge transfer fee, which Calderon feels no team can justify in the current climate.

No doubt Mbappe is a player who everyone would like to sign. He has great potential, and he is very young, he told Stats Perform News.

He reminds me a lot of Ronaldo, the Brazilian, because of his strength and his capacity to score goa…

Bologna look to maintain their impressive form against Inter Milan

Bologna will look to land another blow on Serie A champions elect Inter Milan at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara on Saturday.

Inter head into the weekend 15 points clear of second-placed Juventus and are bidding for a 13th straight victory in all competitions, but Bologna have been something of a bogey side.

This will be a third meeting of the season between the teams, with Bologna fighting back to draw 2-2 at San Siro in the league in October and then handing Inter their most recent defeat, in the Coppa Italia in December.

Bologna, who also won the home league match last season, go into this clash in great form having won their last six matches to climb to fourth in the table, earning former Inter midfielder Motta the Serie A manager of the month award.

He …

Real Madrid move seven points clear at the top after easing past Celta Vigo

Real Madrid moved seven points clear at the top of LaLiga after beating Celta Vigo 4-0 at the Bernabeu Stadium.

Vinicius Junior’s close-range finish gave Real a half-time lead and own goals from goalkeeper Vicente Guaita and Carlos Dominguez put Carlo Ancelotti’s side, without the suspended Jude Bellingham, in full control.

Turkey midfielder Arda Guler stepped off the bench to score his first goal for the club in stoppage time as Los Blancos extended their unbeaten league run to 22 matches.

Liverpool 0 Manchester United 1: Captain Rooney settles low-key contest

Wayne Rooney continued his return to form at Anfield on Sunday, striking 12 minutes from time to earn Manchester United a 1-0 win against fierce rivals Liverpool.

In a largely tepid contest lacking quality on both sides, Rooney reacted quickest when Marouane Fellaini s header rattled the crossbar  ensuring United a fourth consecutive victory over the Merseyside outfit.

Liverpool still in flux under Klopp and struggling for consistency had the better of the first-half chances but were made to rue missed opportunities from the likes of Adam Lallana and Jordan Henderson.

Louis van Gaal s men also looked to have reverted to their goal-shy ways of recent weeks, showing little sign of the renewed attacking vigour on show during Tuesday s 3-3 draw at Newcastle Un…

Prediction: Wolves vs Chelsea

Prediction: Chelsea win

Best Odds:

Bookmaker:

The Premier League is set to put on some midweek fixtures for the first time in what feels like forever, with one of the more intriguing games being Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Chelsea. Both clubs are in very different positions right now, which is ironic, as they were both riding high just a matter of months ago. The dynamic between the two should make for a really interesting game from a technical standpoint, with both teams possessing stars who could easily change the tempo of the game in a split second.

Wolves

Wolves started off their season with such promise, but they appear to be faltering with some fans growing increasingly nervous about the current state of their squad. While they could easily turn …

Allegri confident ahead of must-win Benfica clash: ´I think it will be fine´

Massimiliano Allegri is confident Juventus will be fine against Benfica on Tuesday, even with their Champions League hopes hanging by a thread.

A shock defeat to Maccabi Haifa last time out has given Juve no room for error, with anything less than victory in Lisbon resulting in their elimination from Europe s elite club competition.

Even with a win this week, the Bianconeri would need another result against Paris Saint-Germain while hoping Benfica slip up at Maccabi.

Heading into matchday five, though, Allegri has no concerns, saying in Monday s news conference: Tomorrow, I think it will be fine. I may be wrong, but I m confident.

We have only one result [to chase]; we are not yet eliminated from the Champions League, but neither have we qualified for th…
